First Approach: Take the Lindi down to the Maiko was used to raise awareness of dangers facing the African forests and river systems. The Africa Rainforest and River Conservation organization's mission was to journey to specific areas of Africa that were war-torn. These dangerous trips often included treacherous white water travel in specialized rafts to publicize important National Parks that were abandoned by the international community. The ARRC, looked to keep their conservation endeavors self-sustaining by enlisting techniques such as the reselling of diamonds which many in the traditional conservation community found controversial.
The Maiko Park is located in today's Democratic Republic of the Congo.
